It’s almost time
for our annual selection of minor use pesticide priorities for Nova Scotia
crops, and we hope you can join us! The session for berries will take place
virtually via Zoom on Tuesday, November 16th from 1 to 2 PM.
Our minor use representative,
Michelle Cortens, and Laura Anderson the Provincial Minor Use Coordinator with
NSDA will briefly outline the process and changes that are new to this year.
Then as a group we will be guided through the crops to assess the priority pest
control needs for insects, weeds/growth regulators, and diseases. If you
have potential solutions on your radar (registered in other crops or uses) or
have heard of products you might be interested in, please bring those along as
well.
Any grower is welcome to
attend, so if you know of someone who would like to attend please let me know
so I can include them in the contact list. If you can’t make the meeting,
please send me your critical pest issues and any potential solutions for
consideration at the meeting.
The selected priorities will
then be submitted on behalf of the province and used in ranking the national
priorities.
*Please find attached the documents for the berry selections made over the last two years.
I can't attach documents in here but I will send out an email to people who are under Perennia's cranberry emailing list. If you are not on our list, please contact me (Hugh Lyu, hlyu@perennia.ca and I can help you to get into our list.
Please find the meeting info below and we will send a reminder closer to the date:
